No, John, no...if it wasn't for you and Gary and the rest of the hard-working WHOA staff do you really think these events would've grown into these wonderful get togethers we're all so fortunate to experience? All the folks who've found each other over so many years? All the new friends made by all the Falcon family? Personally, I never would've met Diana and John Ruff, Bull, Tom Wiedermeyer, Wendy Sevenandt, Wendy Castle, Sheila (oh, Sheila) Oglesby, my little sis, KJ, my dear Kylene, HotTub, Dary, Roggy...I mean, just by myself so many of my nearest and dearest are a direct result of your hard work. Brother John, don't thank us. We all owe YOU so much.

The bartenders at SA & The PJ Party
Ross....buddy,

You missed a great time in San Antonio.  I for one will never forget a great reunion.  Diane did a super job.  I had a fantastic time with lots of memories.  Including Friday night at the Pajama Party, thanks Gary for coming up with the idea.  I got to see three of the most beautiful women from the 70's in a bathtub at the same time (eat your heart out Dary!)  They
were Nancy, Sonia, and Lena (I have pictures to prove it!)  Other memories were of course dancing with my sister, Gaye ( I love you!), lots of hugs, breakfast Friday morning with Wagnerites whose timespan was from the 50's through the 80's, golf Saturday morning with more 60's & 70's Wagnerites, walking the San Antonio RiverWalk, reminiscing with friends - new and old, Bubba Dary, Friday evening get-together with a good old TEXAS scratch-off lottery tickets party (rumor that there were two big winners - a $50,000.00 and a $20,000.00 ticket), sharing a tear or two with friends, and of course,
sharing this with my fiance, Shirley Deason.
I know that there couldn't have been one person at this reunion that felt left out.  I felt so good when several people came up to me and thanked me for my post regarding New Orleans.  They told me that they were going to make sure that they made a special effort to make new friends, seek out those that seemed lost, and to do there part to make this a great reunion for everyone.  I met so many new friends some whom I have chatted with on the Wagner IRC channel, some whom I have only read from the Wagner mailing list, and many whom I had only first met through the reunion.  It was such a wonderful experience that it will be many months before I will come down from this high.
To all my new Wagner friends thank you and bless you, to my old friends from Wagner - both those that attended and those whom couldn't you'd better be at the next one - I love you all.

I left my heart in San Antonio,

Jim Cook '75

(Again, thanks to Diane and the rest of you whom made this such a special reunion)

Thanks Jim for the compliments--I enjoyed every minute of the reunion and hope to see everyone again at the next one.  I'm still having vivid memories of  Pete's Pub the last night with  the Latin gods....LOL   I'll never be the same...love you all,   Tweety75

Jim,

No...you didn't leave your heart in SA...you left the most hilarious set of dentures I've seen since Phoenix. I've been recalling those things and busting out laughing. You're crazy, dude:-).

Memories and Lessons
Well,  the much awaited, much anticipated San Antonio reunion has come and gone, leaving San Antonio and myself much enriched, full of wonderful memories, and a bit boring. Sunday night after it was all over, I found myself sitting here in front of my computer, already reliving the memorable moments of this monumental meeting. I asked myself, "can life ever go back to normal" after the flood of emotions brought on by this inexplicable phenomenon called The Wagner Reunion. The answer is simple....NEVER!

"Never" because through this reunion I learned several things, and although I'm not the "Famous Author" Dary is, I will attempt to put these thoughts to type.

I have learned that no matter what class someone from Wagner graduated from, we are all family, and have truly bridged the so called generation gap.

I have learned that Dary, despite his "put on" coarseness, is really a good guy. (Sorry Dary, your secret is out!)

I have learned, also because of Dary, to look at my room accommodations before accepting them !

I have learned that even though a Wagnerite might not be remembered from school, he(she) is still accepted graciously into the fold, and made a part of the family.

I have learned that being in the closet is not such a bad thing after all (Thanks to the "crew" in 416)

I have learned that Eveready modeled the Energizer Bunny after Gaye.

I have learned that even people that really don't know you, can sincerely care about you.(The ones I speak of know who I mean)  :)

I have learned that despite all the problems a person may have in their life, there is always someone who has it worse, and always someone who is willing to listen.

I have learned that San Miguel Beer is a great commodity at Wagner reunions!

But of all the things I have learned, big or small, even though through this reunion my life was enriched by meeting all you wonderful people, Is how empty I feel now that you are all gone.

Thank you Diane, for a wonderful time, it's definitely one for the memory book. One that I will look back on in the times I am sad for a bit of sunshine, one that when I need a smile I will see all the happy faces of the Wagner Alumni.

With all my love... yes,... LOVE
Mike Groves, AKA JazzGuy 76
