Reunionitis
To all my compatriots who are heading to San Antonio, please heed this advice.

Have a marvelous time but don't overdue.....you over 50 types have to pace yourselves or we won't see you in San Diego!  You must eat at least one square meal a day, with veggies.  You must take at least one bath a day, with soap.  You must find time to brush your teeth.  You must sleep at least four hours each night.  Hugs are limited to 30 seconds except for
John P cause he has a shoulder problem and can't always let go, especially if it concerns the Char sisters.  If you bring your spouse you must have one hand in their hand  at all times from 2300 hours on.  And fellows you can only have two dances with the same girl.  Spread the wealth around.  And lastly everyone will be up at 0700 for Dary's church services.  Attendance is mandatory unless you are a card carrying atheist.  Lastly if any Wagnerite displays any signs of too much reunionitis, they must be given CPR followed by a cold shower immediately followed by a San Miguel enema and force feeding of two baluts----the only known cure.

In prep for your trip and weekend for the two nights prior to departure you must be in bed asleep by 2100. You will never make it otherwise.

Have fun fun fun til the sun sets on another lovely and looney weekend of Wagnerites going  bonkers over each other and over memories of their glory days.  I will be there in spirit.

Peace and Love,

Jerry'63

I have been reading all these posts about the past reunions and unfortunately I was not able to attend a single one.  I have attended two small minis right here in beautiful San Antonio and I will be the first to tell you---TEXANS know how to party!  Especially San Antonio TEXANS!  We wrote the book on friendly--heck that is even part of our state motto.  And I will also be one of the first to greet you and smack you on the back as you enter the ballroom right along with some of other
fellow TEXANS---Diane Lowery who has spent a LOT of time and effort to put this together.  Linda Cherry, Jim Cook, Lena Davis (who is just a transplanted San Antonian)  Sonia Kirk (a transplanted Austinite), Claude Bernal who really knows how to party!, Jenny Cranfill, Mike Roth, the JazzGuy himself,  the Masseys, good grief I could go on forever and a day!  Somebody stop me!  Just come prepared for the unexpected.. There is so much to do here and we will have so little time together. Let's enjoy each other while we can...Welcome to San Antonio. Viva Reunions!  Viva Wagner!
Okay I'll get off my soapbox.  Someone hand me a kleenex. Peace

Reunions
I have been reading all the posts about reunions and feeling left out.  My first reunion was in Colorado Springs,  I lived there but had decided not to go, I was full of insecurities, not sure of myself and a little shy about it all.  I had a friend call me up and told me to get my tail on over to the reunion, and  that it would be all right.  So I did.
For those who know me now the rest is history.  Here I am planning the reunions now. I have renewed old friendships and made the best friends that I have ever had, not just from my era but from 1948-1990's.   Who else can say that,
WE ARE THE FALCONS MIGHTY MIGHTY FALCONS..  wow!    We are family.
I found out that about 20 miles from me is another alumni from the class of 84. We decided to meet and we were instant friends.  It is like that with every alumni I have met. I have a selfish reason for planning these reunions,  I get to meet and
know everyone, before anyone else does   hehe....It is so much fun.

I love you all. Younger, Older, no matter, we are all family.

Getting ready for SA!!!
In a week, Donna61, Juanita74, and I will be on the road!  I'm busy with other things, but each day I get just a little bit more excited! Tuesday night, I will sleep over at Donna's - something about being on time .... lol.
There is so little time while there, and so much to do.  Let's see, after I get my fam all situated,  I gotta
1.   Squeezing all my stuff in Donna's car,
2.   Remembering we are NOT Thelma and Louise,  :)
3.   Getting to SA, and embrace all the falcons I already know, and met many new friends, and just spend time with them all (this will be the BEST part!),
4.   Dancing all those cool dances from the 60's with my pals,
5.   Smiling, laughing, and enjoying the company of good friends,
6.   Raiding the vending machine,
7.   Dancing with my pal Ardis, another energized dancer,
8.   Eating cheesecake with Ace, Bull, Ross, and the gang,
9.   Dancing with all the guys in dolls in one big circle,
10  Having a casual walk with Ace and whoever else is willing,
11. Seeing the River Walk again,
12. Watching Ace do the Dary Race again,
13. Dancing with  Jim Cook 75, the king of the two step - hopefully he is coming,
14. Meeting KJ's boys - her sweetie pies,
15. Watching KJ make Dary speechless once again,
16.  Making Florida plans (permanent) with KJ,  :)
17.  Dancing TEXAN style as Karen Slaughter Bogart taught me to do last year,
18. Watching little sis Roggy taking pictures, and pictures, and pictures,
19. Missing my friends that can't be there - (the WORST part),
20  Finding some TEXAN salsa chips to bring home to my friends (there is a difference),
21. Dancing the tush push with Barbara Long, Diane, Jenny, Tish, et all,
22. Seeing how many of us we can pile up in Belden's room this reunion,
23. Trying really hard just being one of Dary's friend and not his therapist, (that's hard - being a DaryQueen),
24.  Dancing the cha cha with Belden, Ace, Donna, et all,
25.  Seeing if Jenny remembered her red dress,
26.  Listening to see if Tom and MN Susan cop talk,
27.  Watching John sit out many of the dances (he is still mending), but still dance with John,
28.  Seeing if the Potatoe Salad lady (aka Linda Jones) brings another batch of salad to the TEXAS re and NOT get arrested
29.  Meeting  another falconette named Gay,
30.  Dancing with Pam and her extraordinary kiddos,
31.  Remembering to say thank you to Diane for all her hard work, :)
32.  Enjoying spending time with Roger, and when he goes to bed, have his wife spend even more time with us, :)
33.  Finding out if there are any ghosts at this hotel to tell Ace about (kidding!),
34.  Meeting Lena's very own Dawn,
35.  Wondering how many creative stories Dary can come up after this reunion,
36.   Seeing if KJ can get one picture of Belden without all the woman in the picture,
37.   Seeing if Gary comes beardless,
38.   Watching the Gary and the Wagner Harem car,
39.   Seeing how many Wagner car signs we see along the way,
40.   Dancing with Trina, and see if she remembers the Cat woman dance she use to do 25 years ago,
41.   Trying very hard to be quiet in the hallways of the hotel in the early morning hours,
42.   Seeing if Diana, John, and Bull have still have a lot more energy after having a blast in Houston,
43.   Getting by with as little sleep as possible,
44.   Saying hello again to Regina Lamb, the person that named Wagner High School.
45.   Keeping track of Thelma (Donna),
46.   Going to Durty Nellie's, a Irish singing place,
47.   Dreading that the time is passing by soooo quickly,
48.   Squeezing KJ's neck, because she's only there for a little bit,
49.   Not saying good-byes - but see ya laters,
50.   Did I mention Dancing?  :)  Gaye, I can't wait,74

Friday night slumber party

I can relate so well to what you say as I had the pleasure to "know" most people before they came to Charleston last year and it was just so much fun to put a real person to someone that I felt was already a friend.  To give Jean Brown a hug as she drove up to the hotel and find Cheryl Perron at the airport picking reunionairres before even going to the hotel was such a
thrill since they were two major cheerleaders to get our thing together. And then there was Steve Gladin (who I couldn't wait to meet).....he was the finder of the majority of "ancient ones" but it was his wit and intellect that I that I found too curious.  Then there were all of the "kids" like Gary (who I had met in COS), Jenny, Woody and Gaye who jumped right in to
lend a hand (not to mention Ardis who lives in Charleston and helped me a bunch).  As my husband, Lloyd, has said  "they had kids from classes 1957 through 1985 and they were ALL the same age". He is right.......We are all the same and have a bond that is really unique!

I look forward to seeing you once again and meeting some new players but also being able to be with all of my good buddies from the great class of '65!
