I FULLY endorse the above sentiments of Sister Vicki. Madame Speaker, please enter my comments in the Wagner Record Book. My only correction would be that I ENVY and I would add a couple of HOO HOOs. Jerry'63 who will be home painting his daughters' room "Periwinkel Blue" and feeling it too. |

Wow......ain't this what us
Wagnerites are all about. We talked and talked and by the minute
I could feel the warmth and friendship sweeping away the cares of the day.
I found myself telling her things I wouldn't in a million years discuss
with contemporary friends, but with one who knew me when, who understood
what Mac's impending departure will mean for
You Wagnerites who may be going to your first reunion this week......watch out, you will never be the same. P*L Jerry'63 |

The reunion is well underway. Many surprise attendees have checked in over the last two days, bringing the totals to close to 200+, representing classes from 1949 to the late 1980's. This is truly a cross section of all years' alumni. Many arrivals yesterday partied until well into the morning. Others rested up for today's festivities. Ron Bonner 65 had a great early 60's party at his home in the city, and the Breeds held a barbecue at Claude "Taco" Bernal's. A small group investigated the Riverwalk, ending up dining at the Hard Rock Cafe. This morning while two groups went golfing at Lackland AFB, Gaye Perkins '74, Ardis Ferguson '75, and Val Smith '72 went for a "power walk." Others hung out in the Hospitality Room, greeting new arrivals with a hug. In the afternoon, several small groups went along the Riverwalk again, ending up shopping and/or taking in the Alamo movie at the Imax Theater. Registration took place all day today, and reunion t-shirts and other memorabilia are almost sold out. A few yearbook CDs are left. Friday's festivities culminated in the Mabuhay Party. The Senior Teen Club gals showed up "in costume," dressing as their mothers might have done oh, so many years ago. The Southwest buffet was hot and spicy, and seemed to be very popular. The highlight of the evening had to be VJ Slupecki '70 and his emceeing of the auction. Poor Mark Kucharyski had to donate the shirt off of his back, much to his embarrassment. After 10 PM, groups seemed to head in different directions, with some going dancing, others having a "pajama party". See y'all tomorrow for another update. Stay tuned. MNSusan72

I want to thank you ever so much for the time, effort and so very much love that you put into organizing this wonderful event here in San Antonio. It was awesome!! The hugging that was going on was incredible. I was amazed at the variety of year groups that showed up... Mr Ron Bucknam '48/'49 and his lovely wife sure had a good time. As I chatted with him, he was amazed at the excitement, the bonding and togetherness that we all shared. It was really exciting to see him and his wife dancing the opening dance "We are family". A very special thanks to anyone else behind the scenes that was part of the organizing of this and mucho, mucho thanks to Mr. Gary Mcquaid '64 (Mr limo) for his many trips to and from the airport, at all hours in his van, to pick up our incoming friends. Will do some recap and funny stories later I am sure but for now, Thank you again, so very much for all you did to make this happen. Love ya girl Ron Bonner '65 and wife Linda
Ron Thank you so much for your
note. It was fun for me to watch everyone having a good time. I was
very busy but had time to sit back and watch all the hugs.
I think we will all sit down and think of all the stories we want to share and will be posting for a while. Diane 69 ( still visiting with
John and Barbara Long and Barbara's house)
Bravo, Diane, Bravo. Whatta reunion. Whatta production. I will also write more detail later. I thought Phoenix was the greatest, but this one was just as good. I was soooooo glad to finally meet some of the 60's crowd. One of them, Gary McVay turned out to be our neighbor from directly across the street in Marisol, Angeles City. Diane, once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Belden '75
