|
The Learning Channel (TLC) featured Wurtsmith Memorial/Wagner HS in its Reunions program. Episode #17 "Wagner High School" was filmed in California and South Carolina in the summer of 1998, and included great coverage of the Charleston Reunion. The program was first broadcast on Thursday, 8 October 1998 with plans to air the show 5 or 6 more times during 1998. |

Another photo of John arriving at the gate. |
Yes, I said. "Yeah, they aren't Daddy's friends, just your special friends, huh?" Right, Mitch. My special friends. kids are so much more perceptive
than we give them credit for. (until they become teens, at which
point they become as dumb as the rest of us!)

John sees the cameras and lights and thinks seriously of turning around, ha ha. |
Hello, Although not from Wagner High, I was very familiar with the school. Between 1960 & 1968 I resided in the Philippines as a student of the American School in Manila then Makati. 1968 I was a student at Brent School in Baguio. Basketball took us to Clark on a regular basis. I was impressed with the television program and your reunion. More importantly, I was impressed with the reply your folks made when making contact with friends of long ago "Welcome Home". Very unique was our opportunity to grow up in the Philippines. Finding "home" after 8 years in the PI, a difficult task for many of us, I am sure. Nice seeing your show. Best regards and

Hmmm...don't think I can go back that way. |
From: Joan McCook <jopemc@flash.net> I saw this program on June 16, 1999 and found it fascinating. My father, David W. Sides, was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in 1953 and my brother and sister attended high school there. Betty Carolyn Sides was a Freshman and Bill (William Bates) Sides was a Junior. They did not know of this web site until I told them so they intend to investigate it. They have such happy memories of that time at Clark Air Force Base. |

Dianne and Becky wonder if that's really John. |
Dear John,
Take Care,
|
|
Yep, that's John alright! |
I'm really glad that there is people out there like yourselves, that set up projects like that, otherwise we'd be lost. Dustin Mann
