WHOA Phoenix, AZ Reunion

Old style elevators with copper plated doors in the San Carlos. |
I just wanted to take
a minute out of my very hectic day to say a big thank you to all of you
out there that have really spent some time and energy for all of our benefits
for the Phoenix reunion. I know that it was something that started
out small - and blossomed - so I am extremely grateful. A special
thanks to Ducky, Barb, Nesie, Rad, Karen and Dary. If I have forgotten
anyone I do apologize and please someone elsepublically thank that person(s).
Somewhere in the plans, the wedding party would like to throw a pre-wedding shower for John Prunier and Susan DiBartolo. We just thought this would be a nice idea for anyone that will be at the Phoenix reunion - but would not have the opportunity to attend the wedding or another reunion. We will give out details later - but we just wanted all to know. It might be difficult to squeeze in a little time with all that is planned - but I am sure we can do it. Somehow, sometime, somewhere. I am really needing a vacation right now - and am so looking forward to being with people that are so special to me. Gaye74 |

...Gaye's right ---- <Gaye,
you really have a way with words, my friend.> There is a ton of appreciation
with regard to those of you who have worked so hard to bring Phoenix from
an idea to reality. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! And
for those of you who have worked so diligently, remember, you ALWAYS
hear more negative from people than positive. So for every piece
of negativity, there is a bunch of positivity. <hmmm, did
I say that?>
If I haven't met you yet and you'll be at the Phoenix "maxi" reserve a few minutes for some getting to know each other time. If I met you at the Tampa, Austin, Charleston or Panama City reunion, be sure to reserve some time for a huge group hug!!!!! I never met a Falcon I didn't like. <yes, that goes for you, too, Dary. :) > WHOA has added a dimension to my life and filled to overflowing an empty space in my heart!! Thank you. Hey Dary,
Tell me more about this Ghost Hotel, Is it an economy class hotel or does it rank with the other hotels i.e. Ramada,Marriott,Hilton in terms of price? I might be tempted to go and check in, always wanted to confront a ghost and ask future questions for the fun of it, they don't tell lies! Had a lot of fun at some of the Ghost hotels of Manila, even scared the heck out of me one night. I might bring a blender to make my own Kiwi Margaritas. TG '73
It's the official Phoenix Re reunion hotel, the San Carlos. Built in 1928. Nicely refurbished, but you can give and old broad a limited number of facelifts before she starts looking ghasty, if you know what I mean. Because of the facelift, however, prices are prime, about $100 bucks a night for the reunion rate. The San Carlos used to be a big hangout for 1930 and 40s movie stars, most of which, I'm certain, are still hanging around.
Passed by the joint late last night. Saw Scooby Doo and Shaggy running
out the front door, yelling and yelping....

I don't about ya'll
but I am overwhelmed now with all the suggestions coming in from everyone
about the activities for Fri and Sat. I know everyone wants to have
a good time and I know we will, but I know Barb has done her best to satisfy
our need to have dinner/dance and from Tucson no less. In Austin
I was separated from everyone because the one place we decided to go to
was closed down! So everyone went they separate ways. I, for
one, don't want that to happen again. I think we all agree on one
thing, we want to stick together for the most part, but eventually we will
go on our separate ways with our little groups which is fine. It's
just like highschool all over again. Now that I think about it, no matter
what we do, the places we will go to are so close to the hotel, we will
definitely run into each other. Gosh now I am babling and this is getting
too long. I don't care what we do, but I think we should at least
have dinner together - this way all of us will be in one place and I DO
want to meet everyone again, plus the photo ops! Well my mind is
spinning with different thoughts right now. What do we do? and Dary,
thanks for all the running around you are doing. This 80's twit really
appreciates it.
