On Mitchell Highway headed for Wagner High |
Subject: Our Excellent
PI Adventure - Episode 7 - Fast Times at Wagner High
Date: Sun, 06 Aug 2000 From: John Prunier <prunier@whoa.org> Wagner High Second Visit: late Thursday afternoon, 20 July 2000, I made a second trip to the old school to try to get photos of areas we missed in our first visit. Although it started raining again before I got there, I was able to get many additional photos of individual rooms in the eastern halves of all five wings. I also searched for any remnants of our past from the remains and trash I found. There wasn't much left. Most of what I found remained from the mid to late '90s when the school was apparently used for construction support for nearby villas. I did find a lot of Pinatubo ash (brought back several pounds), some ceiling tiles (brought back 3), and a few loose fixtures from the gym locker rooms. I also found a ferocious wild kitty cat guarding the 200 wing! When I tried to approach, it snarled and then high-tailed it for the jungle via one of the classrooms. I wonder if it could be a decendent of one of the pets left behind after Pinatubo? I nicknamed it Mikey. Coming soon - Subic Bay, more wild animals, Expo Pilipino, local alumni, and much more. Comments and Lessons Learned: - it rains a lot in July John '65 and VJ '70 - ate rambutan and mango everyday for our colds |
